The 50th annual Arrowhead Home and Builder’s Show kicked off last Wednesday evening and ran through Sunday afternoon. As always, Shamrock Productions put on a wonderful show filled with fun for all. The crowd was buzzing with delight over Bob Eubanks and his traveling game show.

We were delighted to visit with many previous and existing customers as well as prospective customers. The booth was busy throughout the show and customers were raving over the Blue and Buggy Tongue & Groove paneling. People are definitely attracted to the uniqueness of this product. Rustic by nature and rich in color and character, it is sure to add appeal to any room. This product is suitable for wall or ceiling application but certainly not intended for hardwood flooring.

Blue & Buggy is first use lumber. People often ask if the product is reclaim and my answer is that it is reclaimed from nature. The lumber is harvested from dead standing pine trees that have been killed by bark beetles. Left standing, these trees will become a fire hazard. The beautiful blue and gray streaking throughout the material is caused by a chemical reaction that occurs in the dying trees. Don’t worry, there are no beetles or any sort of other bugs left in the final product.

We process the material at our facility right in Duluth, MN. The rough lumber is brought in, sized and milled on all four sides meaning there is also a tongue and a groove on the ends where the pieces join together. The natural rough sawn face of the material is left intact and lightly sanded to remove the rough patches. The customer can then decide if they want the material to be prefinished at our facility or left raw.
